LPG serivice is normaly around £50 for a basic check over and filter change. If there are running problems then that would be repair work not serivicing and cost would depend on what work is needed.

Do you know what make and type of system you have? It is usualy best to go to an installer who knows the system you have.

Asuming you have a spare wheel tank then it would be 70ltr with the valve in the centre or 77ltr full toroidal (valves outside). Cost wise I don't know of teh top of my head but it will make a difference with what type you have.

I can't think of any good installers in that area - don't think there are many to start with. D J autogas used to have a good lad working for them but he left over 2 years agoa nd started on his own.

CLS are BRC and Kings I know nothings about.

You could give Autogas 2000 at Thirsk a call. 01845 523 213 is the number. Ask for John or Chris.

They converted my V70 and have looked after the service side of things ever since.

Service involves a filter change, software and pressure check, plus of course a check of fittings and connections etc.

They must be doing something right because my V70 has done 210,000 miles, 160,000 of them on gas with no trouble at all!

They will also do a basic interim service - oil, filter, plugs etc - at the same time at very reasonable prices.

Cheers

Jack

That's very precise. Do you mean it will be then be 10 years old?

How seriously should one take this replacement period? Do they start leaking when getting past their end-date, or just suddenly explode? Has anyone ever had an old tank fail?

Mine's 7 I think. Ought I to be planning on getting a new one shortly?

I spoke to the top man at the LPGA about this a few couple of years ago and as far as they are conscerned there is no need to change the tank because of age.
What you are supposed to do is have the tank represure tested as stamped up again with the test date but I do not know of anyone that has actualy bothered to do this. What I would suggest though is to get a LPG installer to check the tank over and do a basic leak test every couple of years after the tank reaches 10 years old.

Tank that are mounted underbody will need replacing after 10 years and sometimes sooner from experiance.

Default thanks

Hi swede

I knew what is involved with the tank used to do lpg bottles and servicing i was lpg corgi reg and i also used to go diving so my air tank was tested both visual and pressure tested.

The tank i have at the moment is about a 60 litre so actually holds 44 litres and yes a 70 litre tank would be great for the distance getting about 200 miles to a fill. both town and motorway too.

But what would be the cost for the 70 litre tank fitted swede any prices ?

thanks Davey

As a ball park price then I would say about £300 but it is going to depend on exactly what tank you want fitting and what tank you have now.

I could do with some pictures of your tank and how and where the pipes fit to give a better idea on price.
