Xc60 d5 R-Design 2012, comfort module control

Evening.

I've tried quickly find right thread, couldnt So long story short.
Car starts only with key in, no central locking, Windows, AC, radio, dashboard, rev, speedo also, boot wont open. Mechanic checked fuses, all working. Missus dad mentioned comfort module could be the issue, its been wet over The past couple of weeks in Yorkshire and i could see some moisture trapped inside the car.
Where i can find that Module in the car? Searched on web but no right answer for my car.

Any ideas?

Hello

The issues you experience are more associated with problems with the CEM aka Central Electronics Module.
This is to be found under the dash behind the glove box with the internal fuse board.

Moisture can be the defining issue and your XC60 was not immune to the leaking windscreen issues. If you feel under the carpet and your hand is wet through you need to address the water ingress whilst sorting the CEM issue.

A code read with ViDA will give you a better direction to work in.

It happened over night, Day before it passed mot, came back normal, next Day nothing inside worked properly.

It was scanned with snapon or something like that, didnt really payed attention to The brand of device, it said something about immobiliser module connection failure, whatever it means, am really not good at all with m3chanical side of the cars, hence why i poped in here.

I could possibly try myself, but... What if something goes wrong... 😂

Well let's see, you have a fault on a complex vehicle and your mechanic has checked fuses then scans with a Snapon code reader and you're advised of a communication error with immobiliser

...but diagnostic dad in law suggests the comfort module based on? No me neither I can't think why.

In which case there is never any easy fix on these things without first a visual inspection of wiring and modules then a read of codes with a machine capable of doing more than providing just codes.

Vida is Volvos diagnostic system. As well as the main dealer, there are independent Volvo specialists using it and some forum members on here also use it.

My punt would be moisture at/or in the CEM but as by your own admission you are "really no good with mechanics side of the cars", you need a Volvo specialist...such as this chap http://www.gtechvolvospecialists.com
I can't vouch for him, just came up on a search on t'internet.

I think in the long term it will save you more money and less earache from your lass when you've spent her Gin money on bits you didn't need.
