Engine heater consumption?
Does anybody know approximately how much the diesel engine heater use per minute or hour or something?
I have a programmable heater on my D2, and I currently observe a big difference between what the computer tells me the consumption is and how fast the fuel gauge is dropping. But if the heater use half a litre (1/9 gal) per hour, it would go a long way to explain the difference. |

I don't know about the units fitted to Volvos, but the pre-heater fitted to the Mercedes Sprinter vans uses 0.5 - 0.75 lt/hr.

Wow, that's a lot! Thanks for the information
I did a lot of googling today and found that Webasto speaks of 0.3 litre per hour. But if my heater consumes 0.5 l/hr and runs for 30 min every morning it does add up. |

Had it verified by Volvo - 0.6 litre/hour.
