Code P0300 Compression Test Volvo C70 S70 V70 1999 NA
For reference - Nothing much to see here - my notes, this maybe of use to others:
Subject set for Google to spider. Compression Test 156K Volvo V70 1999 NA Denso Engine model: B5244S 2435cc Code P0300 Using Gunson's compression gauge. Dry Cold Open Throttle (ETM wedged open) Cranked 8 x revolutions No plugs present to Other Cyls Injectors unplugged. Cyl 01 = 215 Cyl 02 = 188 Cyl 03 = 204 Cyl 04 = 212 Cyl 05 = 070 Wet Cold Open Throttle (ETM wedged open) Cranked 8 x revolutions No plugs present to Other Cyls Injectors unplugged. Cyl 01 = 240 Cyl 02 = 240 Cyl 03 = 220 Cyl 04 = 245 Cyl 05 = 090 I didn't bother to do 'hot dry' or 'hot wet' runs, what with Cyl No.5 as it is, I know enough. Reckon the head must come off. It still limps on. I'll drive it a while longer. Was giving code P0300, and likely still will next outing This is a car I've recently acquired with a truly lousy LPG install. It conforms to all the stereotypes that LPG became famous for. Holy Scotchlok, sadly, back in the day, so many cars were bash-up conversions, and the reputation of LPG went south. I remember the ads.... "£1200 and collect next day!" Clearly, this one was 'thrown-in' under a railway-arch on a wet Tuesday. Customer wanted it cheap, that's what it is. In short on NA cars, this with 156K on the odometer, 'dry' expect to see 215 on a good pot. Turbo are lower.

And...
Cylinder 1 is nearest the cam-pulley, ie: on the RHS of the car from a driver's perspective. Cylinder 5 nearest battery-tray, to the LHS of the car from a driver's perspective.
