For the love of all things holy, just done a 10L flush, by the book (vida lol) a 4L and 3 x 2L, I then sat and warmed up the box to bang on 50C and then did a level check, nothing coming out so proceeded to add more, all in all it took another roughly 1.5L. I then torqued the level pipe, and then added the inner torx plug and torqued that, i doubled checked to make sure and the friggin thing snapped off the head of the torx plug. Another £25 quid into the pot for a new level pipe and torx plug. Got a mate to drop off some chemical metal so i can seal the end of the thread but leaving enough to undo the level plug. Its my only option unless i want to wait til volvo ship one out monday, that could take til Tues or Wed but i need the car so waiting for postie is not an option and my mate cant take me cause hes tied up with work in the morning and vulva shut at 1pm...

Much appreciated Barry, but ive now done all the flushes i am going to spend money on as ive now gone beyond the £300 mark, granted some of that was tools, 60L of oil (not counting the 6L or so of 0w30), some of it due to the wrong oil etc but still, its had over 50 litres worth of flushes, 30 of those since the incorrect oil and its now back to exactly what it was like prior to starting the whole shenanigans.

I have now set the oil level as per Vida with the Dice connected, i.e once it hit 50ºC, check level and refill til it flows out all on level standing. The only thing thats different so far is that theres been no slipping, just the jerks/jolts and loud'ish jolt in to reverse.

It seems to be worse at low speeds, i.e. around the 50-30mph 5th to 4th or 40 to 30mph 4th to 3rd, its pretty much when the car is coasting in that gear then you down shift, be it manually or kickdown. If the engine/box is under load, its not too bad.

Any downshifting at speed aint too bad, not 100% smooth all of the time it does jolt on occasion but its not consistent like it is at the much lower speeds.

I am pretty much resigned to the thinking that i need a Valve Body, so i dont have too many options at present, i can save for the VB and then start again and save for the garage to fit it, i need to ring around on Monday ands see what's what. It does not help when on a low income, but thats my fault for choosing Volvo lol

The only realistic option i am left with in the meantime is fitting an extra oil cooler, thats only about £40 so adding that amount into the mix is neither here nor there, if it works great, i am a little concerned that it could make things worse in the long run what with the box not reaching its optimum temp, then again, whats worse than now except for a dead box lol

I should i had gone with my gut though when i originally asked if i should waste the money on gearbox flushing or put that money towards the Valve Body, I had a feeling it would end up this way, its the sort of luck i have

Have you reset the brains using Vida. Its called adaptation I think

Oh, what? wait what? nope, not done that at all, 1st im hearing of this i think, i've only the oil temp check.
So there is still hope yet? The fact the someone is up at the same time as me gives me hope too lol

Thanks Barry, that reminds me its over £400 now cause i got Vida, no point listening to that video unless youre fluent in other languages, it was just for that disclaimer writing at the beginning is all
