2010 V50 1.6D DrivE
Daughter has been given the opportunity to buy a 2010 V50 DrivE 1.6D S
32k miles. Full 12 month MOT Assuming full service history ,is this a good buy ( assuming price is ok) or should we walk away as at any price these cars are Trouble with a capital T? Read reports that these (and 2.0d) are not the most reliable of Volvo. Cheers Bob |

5 speed or 6 speed 6 is the best as dpf is for life but as with all diesels if you are just doing short journeys it will give you problems so petrol is best
cam belt on the early one is 70,000 miles or ten years, so if its not been done its due, not sure what the later cambelt change time is |

Agreed with the previous poster. What type of driving is she going to be doing? Regular motorway/A road commutes then diesel OK. If just for pottering around town, then diesel not the best (asking for trouble with the DPF). I do a lot of tootling around town with the kids, hence why I went for a 2.0 Petrol.

Thanks
Daughter gone off the idea - it was the low mileage that attracted attention. She has a 15 mile each way commute on semi urban ( free moving) roads.
She's keeping her 14yr old Jazz - Its paid for, costs coppers to run and thus far has run faultlessly (save for one coil spring + regular servicing) for 86K. She just wanted to be like the rest of the family - Volvo owners Cheers Bob |
