Independents in Bristol area include:
Elite in Bedminster
Shipham Motor Co. in Shipham
Formula Cars near Wellington
And bizarrely Williams Automobiles (the Saab garage next to Bryan Brothers Volvo) advertise as Volvo specialists

Haven't had first hand experience of work done by these garages.
Spoke to Formula about some work and they seemed clued-up and reasonably priced. They have a pretty decent reputation with other forum users.
Elite didn't inspire me when I popped in to ask about some work - it depends on who you spoke to. But again has a decent reputation with other users.
My preference has always been MRG, granted it's a 50 mile round trip and I'm paying a little more for the glossy surroundings. Nevertheless they are probably one of the cheapest main dealers around (cheaper still if you join the Volvo Owners Club and use the members discount and also take in your own oil). They have always looked after me and my T5. Really hard to fault.

Tough luck with the alignment. Just remember to keep checking the tyres at least every few weeks to spot any problems.
Out of interest, did you ever take the problem up directly with Volvo UK?
On the subject of bushes, I was warned at my last service one of my wishbone bushes was wearing so I'm looking at changing them next service along with the cambelt. Ouch! Anyway, I too am interested in the Police-spec bushes or finding out if the 2007-spec bushes will fit. Anyone know?

mhon,

Thanks for the reply, will call round those garages to see what they are like. I'll ask them about the bushes and see what they think.

Has anyone else had their bushes changed? Am interested to know how hard it was etc.

Thanks

James

Default Uneven tyre wear

Just had the same problem at 20k miles on a set of tyres where the inside tread had worn down to the carcass !! I am getting the alignment checked out at specialist in Swindon. Hopefully it will be less than £50 and any adjustment will last longer than a few 1000 miles.
