Default Car Smell - XC90

Hi,

My 5 yr old hates to get into our XC90 because of the smell of new car leather...
Its been 6 months now but her repulsion is just getting bad...She gets into the car holding her nose...Then I quickly get in lower the windows for her....Its the smell of those car seats and plastics and not anything else.

Can someone advise a good way to remove this smell or recommend a subtle replacement options. .? She cannot stand strong car perfume in a closed environment...

Thanks

My grand daughter is the same, she hates the smell in my XC90, she loves my old musty Landrover Defender though. (All kids love the Defender) I have to put an air freshner in my XC90 to keep her happy.

If you hold down the open button on the key before you approach the car you can open the windows as you approach, alternatively or as well as turn off the clean air system, that pressurises the cabin so upon opening the door the air flows out of the vehicle rather than in, I guess this system will keep smells inside the car longer that are not filtered out with the charcoal filter.

Volvo's Clean Zone Interior Package should avoid that:
