  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

does the tacho drop to 0 when it cuts? power stage...

But find if it is fuel or spark rather than blindly replacing parts. Get a auto electrician to diagnose? check the look of the spark signal on an oscilloscope.

Thanks for the reply.

The car had plenty of fuel and been filled several times, what I can't work out is how it can be run everyday for months without any problems, then suddenly hit problems again. The Spark plugs have only covered a few thousand miles.

After being recovered last week I left the car in the drive. I popped the negative terminal in the battery to prevent it from draining. On Tuesday I connected it back up and it fired into life and revved freely! Never drove it as I have no confidence in it.

I ordered a new coil today so will get that fitted when it arrives and see if that improves things.
