yep, I saw yours and went to fleBay - then Amazon and spotted the German offer.
I have a V70 with auto box, so no 4WD tomfoolery to worry about for me Do you have a separate thread with any pictures of your g/box removal, or is the text here the definitive version ?

When I did the core plug on my XC90, I took the engine out in the garden. Much much easier.
I didn't want to lower the subframe to get the gearbox out, and the hassle to line it all up again. John |

Fantastic read, well done sir!
My mechanic has been sent this & we are both attempting it this weekend, I have a core plug but it looks like I should buy a crankshaft seal too then! He has a ramp in his workshop so I take it that’ll make the job a bit easier? |

It will be *much* easier with a ramp, you wont be laid under it like I was...
I would do the crankshaft seal, core plug, gearbox input shaft seals and driveshaft seals - if you intend on keeping the car a long time. I would also spend a while tilting and rotating the gearbox and torque converter a few times to get as much of the old fluid out as possible.

My new “box” comes with the TC does this mean we don’t have to worry about loading it correctly? |

I would unload it and re-load it to double check it is done properly...
