I'm the same, volvo is now showing the book time for maintenance message, will do this for a month before telling me service due than service overdue once date is passed.

Not an issue for me as I've the land rover which don't care about time and will run untill the engine drops out if needed. It gets serviced twice a year normally by myself but has no electronics to shut it down because it's service is overdue.

Paul.

When the Volvo car tells you the service is overdue, does it stop the car being used?

No.

And if you search for the right instructions, you can press buttons to get rid of the message

Got a reply from Volvo about serviceing at last.

Quote:
Thank you for your email below, I can confirm under the current circumstances a late service will not effect or invalidate your manufacturers warranty.

For servicing it is important to keep vehicles running and safe, if you are on lockdown, then your driving would be minimal but we would ask that you take precautions – check your oil and fluid levels etc.

We will not invalidate warranty if a car is beyond the 13 months service limitations during this time but if the car is due on mileage for the safety and reliability of the car especially our key workers there are many Volvo workshops still open to support
.

As long as volvo say the warranty is not invalidated then I wouldn't worry and wait. I very much doubt a few months extra is going to cause any harm. As for the oil, I'm sure it's still got plenty of life left in it yet. Your nowhere near the annual 18,000 miles anyway.

It seems to me that the world will never be the same again because of this whole situation because of the coronavirus.

It seems to me that the world will never be the same again because of this whole situation because of the coronavirus. You should understand that it will really complicate our daily life quite a lot. Therefore, you should get used to it and look for other solutions that will help you arrange your life so that you feel comfortable. I almost lost my job because of covid. When I first felt the first symptoms, I immediately turned to https://kaspiro-services.co.uk/#Booking . It helped me to get the result quickly and inform the employer in time so that he also found a new employee for 2 weeks in our car service.
