Follow up to that question. If i do remove the deck is there anything that would need to be left alone (wires, lines anything like that?)
Those are the main questions. I did have more, but I draw a blank atm. Thanks.
Yes you can fully remove the deck. All the wiring etc is hidden away other than you will expose the fuel pump/sender wiring but I should image you would be putting in a new floor? Also you will expose the spare wheel

Wasn't it great when Volvo made the earlier estates. I've got great memories of my 740GLE, a marvelous car with acres of space, and if I remember correctly, rear wheel drive!

Yep the 960 last of the RWD cars I still marvel at the handling on such a big car and that sweet sweet turning circle.

Couldn't agree more, 'ntw'. That of my 745 I measured between kerbs; that of the V70 which replaced it, I measure between towns!

Regards, John.

Regards, John.
A friend of mine, who was a traffic cop said that they could turn an 850 on an entire dual-carriageway and a 200-series car on the blacktop. Negativerlenkrollradius was the German word for the phenomenon.

TBF, other than Chrysler's Alpine, all FWD cars suffer from a poor turning circle as the driveshaft angle restricts the amount of turn the wheels can generate. The Alpine had a "proper" front suspension with double wishbones and not the ubiquitous half-a-suspension system that is the Macpherson Strut, which might have had some bearing on the matter.

Not sure about the Alpine but i know my other beast which is FWD rivals my 760 for turning circle and it's both longer and wider than the 760 as well!

By sheer coincidence, it has double wishbone and Chapman strut front suspension so you may well be right. That said when i was a young puppy, my dad had several company cars, originally the Mk1 Cavalier then he had a few Mk4/5 Cortinas followed by a brief spell with a Talbot Alpine (the renamed Chrysler Alpine after the PSA buy-out of Chrysler Europe) and was forever complaining about the oil tanker turning circle on it.
