Default D5 2007 - P0089 (car cut out whilst driving)

Hey all,

Just looking for a bit of help, I was just driving along, thankfully not far from home and the lights on the dash suddenly went on, then I lost the engine and rolled to stop (oh the morning rush loved me).
After a few mins, I was able to fire it up (I did notice a whiff of diesel), and get back home in limp mode.
After getting the scanner on it, it seems like its p0089, and I suspect it's the fuel pressure sensor.
I've had a random issue for the last year whereby the engine would fire up, sometimes stall if I didn't blip the throttle enough. So I'm wondering if it's either the sensor or if there is a regulator as well ?

As I've not worked on this engine before, so I've put 3 arrows on what I suspect are fuel pressure sensor, or regulator ?

I also managed to get a fairly decent photo of one part which says it's a regulator ? (right side down arrow)
Bosch 30777576

Appreciate any help !

I ended up replacing the sensor and the SCV (left arrow, up arrow on my pic).
I noticed that there was some weird looking stuff on the old sensor.
When I fired the car up, it really was unhappy and stalled a few times.
On the last attempt, I used a bit of throttle to keep it going and it seemed to clear it up.
My suspicion is that I had some contaminated fuel, that possibly broke or clogged the SCV.
I drove around the block a couple of times, stinks of diesel that spilt onto a few bits, hopefully that goes away soon.

I cleared the dash error BUT Torque Pro is insisting that I have these 2 codes (for a faulty MAP sensor):
P0069
P2227

However I replaced the MAP sensor about year or so ago, and I'm just wondering why it's picking that up and not on the dash.
