Default Phone holder for V50 - any ideas that might work?

Hi there.

Has anyone found a decent way of supporting a mobile phone in their car (in portrait mode)?

I find that my V50's setup just does not lend itself to putting any phone holder in any proper way.

I do not really want to use a phone holder that clips onto the air vents or one that fits into the CD player. I would also prefer not to use one that sticks to the windscreen, either.

Are there any other options that might work?

You've pretty much ruled out all mainstream mounting methods except the 3M double sided magnetic ones which stick to the dash. Amazon do a good one for £10, then stick the metal disc on the back of your phone case. Had mine on for about a year in all temperatures and it hasn't come off. In fact I tried to remove it to sell the car and I'd have destroyed the soft vinyl dash so I left it on so make sure you stick it to plastic.

Some folk on here mention Brodit mounts. Don’t know much about them personally, prefer to stick it in the cubby arm rest!

My setup is linked here and here.

The charger is a wireless charging holder from Amazon and is powered by cable run through the dash and connected to the back of the 12v socket.

Mount is a Brodit proclip but for a LHD car. The rhd one gets in the way of the ignition and hazard light switch. Ify avoid putting it where my DAB unit is on the waterfall section as it fould the passengers leg.

Quadlock are really good. I've got mine on the window but they also supply a plate you can stick down onto the dash. It's rock solid and extremely fast to mount and dismount.

I had this for years on my last car:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/GETIHU-Dash...ps%2C92&sr=8-3

I wanted one that takes up as little space as possible and allows me to slap the phone on there and pull it off without issue. The magnet is strong enough to firmly hold my heft NothingPhone1 in place.
