1998 V70R front brake set up
Bought Saffy with an almost certain bent Merseyside MOT so no surprises at the various work I have done all of which was there on MOT day and would have amounted to an instant fail
One of the last issues as per title - pads and discs - any reccos greatly received- she will not be doing track days so super dooper performance not required ! |

Not bought them for the V70, but I have the Brembo discs and pads from Eurocarparts on a few of my cars and have no complaints. They also come painted, so don't get unsightly and rusty. Rob

Thanks chaps
I should have mentioned nothing hacks me off more than doing a proper detail on the girl and the ATE discs come up as rusty as hell ! So any views on rust resistant discs also appreciated |

Discs will always rust, the surface itself cant be protected from factory as the surface is constantly being worn down (as I'm sure you know!). Rotor hats can be, and most decent branded stuff will adjust have that protection. If you want to stop the disc surface from rusting during washing or rain, you need to use something like Bilt Hamber Atom-Mac, which will add a temporary protective layer to the disc.

Why this would be a concern I'm not sure. Non-rusting discs eh? That's a new one for me. First time it's driven they'll brighten-up anyway, and for road-use, cast-iron is a proven material.
Come to think of it, there's some fool Youtuber singing the praises of low-dust pads. Dear me, we're left wondering why our government spends so much on education? Clearly money wasted - nothing's going in. An IQ test at 10 could save a fortune. Pad choice?: Provided we stick to name brands, at road legal-speeds I defy any on here to find a difference. Simply by fact of being 'here', is a flat admission of this fact, or worse, a delusion. And anyway, how could we take the word of me or anyone else that a given brand is good? Compared to what, and on who's say so? May as well ask next-door's cat, and have done.

Been buying these for years
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Rear-...4AAOSwCZRfJHgT Drive them very hard ceramic pads and virtually no dust and you can't see it only notice it if you brush your finger against the rim, and it's light coloured. More than two years on this set Really cheep but not really!
