Default 850R - Unable to find a heater blower resistor part#9134933

Hi Everyone,
I recently replaced my seized heater motor blower with a second hand one. Thankfully it works but it activates the moment I connect it up without the ignition on. If I unplug the resistor module the blower stops. I believe this means the heater blower resistor has been fried. Which is not surprising as when the original motor stopped working I tried replacing the fuses 5 & 31 to no avail and shortly afterward smoke started bellowing out of all the vents!

The problem I now have is locating a replacement heater blower resistor which is the alloy heatsink type with part number 9134933. I have searched for ages online and can't find one anywhere as Volvo has discontinued the part . Does anybody by chance have one for sale or know of where I can get one?

Many thanks

Any good? Part number is one digit different but volvo do sometimes change the numbers while the part is essentially the same thing although being USA and left hand drive it might be different?

Thank you for the link . I have seen that part too but I have no idea if it's just a matter of the plugs being on the opposite side or if there are any other differences.

That part will work on your car. 850 T-5R's were also fitted with 9134933, yet non R's with ECC had the part number with 1 digit out. Not sure why. The connectors fit in fine.

Thanks for the response.

I think the part 9134932 might be for left hand drive and 9134933 is for right hand drive because the connector plugs are on opposite sides.

I will try and look out for a second hand one just in case it doesn't work as the new one is quite pricey.

Default Heater module

These seem to be common at the moment I’ve recently been asked to repair one of these and have the components needed in the post coming so will let you all know if I manage it in the next couple of weeks👍 They seem impossible to find and discontinued

Did you have any success reconditioning a blower resistor?
I have the same issue with mine and struggling to find a replacement

Any advice much appreciated. Thanks, Rob
