Vida Dice with Laptop or Tablet
Good evening Cherished5,
I'm unable to PM you direct. I have a 2015 Reg, 2016MY V60 CC D3, which is causing me some problems with random warning lamps and check messages inc ABS, ESC, TPMS and most recently 'City Safety Service Required'. Can you supply Vida Dice with either a tablet or a laptop, which I would be able to use on my V60 ? If so can you contact me with a price please to include postage to the Scottish Highlands. Removed to prevent spam Many thanks. Last edited by cumbrianmale; Aug 29th, 2020 at 18:17. |

DICE/VIDA availability request
Hi Cheshired5,
fabbio here. As PM not allowed, posting here. I'd like to check with you price and availability of a DICE/VIDA, shipment to Sweden I have a V60CC AWD D4 2017 and I'd like to see what can I do with this tool, starting from activating Sensus navigation (via VDASH, I assume). Major question: I have a win10 laptop with VMWare on it, would you recommend to have VIDA running native or emulated? I'd appreciate if you could PM me. Thanks Cheers |

No need for a pm as the answer will be useful to others in your situation. I currently only supply Vida 2014d which connects to most models from 1999-2015 model years so isn't suitable for your car and without personal experience of using a VCX tool with VDash, I wouldn't want to supply you with a tool either. I don't have Dice at the moment. Dice definitely do communicate with VDash and when I do have Dice, they are £115GBP posted to Sweden. Vida works fine in a VM when connected to compatible Volvo models. I have no experience with VDash in a VM but VDash runs fine natively in Windows 10.

I'm working with an 07 s60r and most likely need the whole setup. My computer might work but I'm not sure if it is the pro edition.
Any suggestions where to get DICE since you don't have any atm? This would be going to Pennsylvania Thanks a ton -Flux |

I agree, your reply can help others. Roger on Vida not usable on my car, but my interest for DICE still stands. Do you know when you'll be restocked with DICE units again? If the time frame is reasonable I'd prefer to stick with you instead of rolling my "dices" on eBay! Maybe futile question: can DICE be used also as "general OBDII adaptor" for the usual performance-monitoring software out there? Thanks Cheers |

Hi Cherished5, I think I have PM'd you but nothing is showing in my sent PMs. I was interested in the dice unit and I associated software and I am based in Sheffield UK. Please can you let me know if you have any units available please?
Thanks in advance Dave

I ordered the laptop and VIDA from Simon
and it arrived this morning.
Not a PC user I emailed Simon for help and he got back to me within a couple of minutes with start up instruction. Since my lovely wife works with PC in her job, I also enlisted her and in a couple of minutes we were connected to our XC70 and found the fault I was expecting "Left front wheel sensor" as I have been getting intermittent "ABS/Anti-Skid service required", confirmed. Also had confirmation I need to replace the engine mounts (learned about that by watching Simon's excellent videos about replacing engine mounts and how to check vacuum leaks). Kicking myself for procrastinating - should have done this years ago. In short - highly recommended (as are Simon's videos on youtube)..

@Cherished5, absolutely amazing service. Simon was super helpful and went over and above in ensuring that I was set up and ready to go.
He is an absolute credit to the Volvo community and is a genuinely kind soul. I was in a pinch after doing something rather stupid with my car. I needed to get on top of it quickly and was quite worried. Simon was awesome throughout and patiently offered support during the install and set up right through to getting a good connection to the car. I personally can't thank him enough. I highly recommend speaking to Simon (Cherished5) if you want to get yourself vida. 👍
