Default Help! What is this pipe?

Hi all,
Looking for help identifying a pipe that fits to, I assume the back of the heater in the centre console of my 2012 XC60 2.0L diesel R-Design.

Story is while reversing out the drive one morning this week I heard a noise what I can only describe as, water being emptied from a bottle, coming from the passenger side footwell. I looked over to the footwell and saw water pouring out from behind the centre console.
After a good look around the forum and google, I stripped the carpet back and saw this pipe. The physical fit of the pipe is not great, it slips in and out easily so I am assuming the water came out from that.
I have checked all drains under the windscreen in the engine bay and they are all working as they should so that is why I am assuming the water came from this pipe/joint.

I do also have another issue with the windscreen bonding on the passenger side but I do not think this was the cause of what happened this week. I will get the windscreen resealed/replacement ASAP after reading post regarding the bonding issue.

Any help identify this pipe and understanding what it does would be great and very much appreciated cause at the minute I’m struggling to work out where the water came from.

Picture of the pipe attached hopefully 🙏

Default Pipe

It looks like an air conditioning drain pipe, you will get quite a bit of water coming from this when using air conditioning, you will need to check out where it’s coming from but certainly looks like the drain from aircon system

Thanks for the reply Mark.
That’s what I thought also AC drain, this comes down from behind the glovebox and fits into that black module which I assume is the heater. I’ve found a black rubber hose coming from behind that module in the center console going through the floor in the driver’s side footwell which again I think is the AC drain.
Why would that pipe route through this module?
I’m the type of person who wants to know how things work 😁
