850 front wing repair cost?
I was slightly overzealous when washing my 850 this morning and managed to punch a finger sized hole in my driver's side wing today.
I'm aware it's a delicate part prone to rusting badly and have been putting off a repair for ages but this has prompted me to look at getting it repaired or replaced. If I go down the repair route, how much should I expect to pay for the area to be cut out, repaired and resprayed? Alternatively I'll probably look to get a new wing if I can find one nearby - all I can see are either out of budget or collection only just now. Assuming it's a different colour, how much should a full respray cost? I know there's a lot of variables - just a rough idea is fine! Or lastly, I've spotted a replica wing on Skandix. https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...right/1068521/ Anyone bought one of these before and do they fit well even though they're not Volvo genuine? Finally, if anyone has a wing they'd be willing to sell at a reasonable price in the Glasgow area (even better if it's the same colour) or spots one in central Scotland for sale then give me a shout! 850 front wings
Hi there is a white 850 estate on gumtree breaking. I have bought from him in the past as far as i know he has a lot of 850 parts hope this helps.

I've fitted a replacement wing to our S70, and it really was a doddle. I managed to buy a second-hand wing in the correct colour and simply bolted it in place. I'm not sure how different the S70 is from an 850, but I'd hazard a guess that although the actual parts will of course be slightly different, the practicalities of removing one wing and fitting a replacement will be much the same.
The real challenge might be finding a pre-owned wing as so many seem to rust exactly as per your photo. The 70-series cars don't seem to suffer rust in the same way. Jack |

Hi all, sorry for resurrecting this slightly older thread. I haven't managed to get a new wing yet but have still been on the hunt. Has anyone here tried the aftermarket one from Skandix? How's the fit compared to OEM ones?
https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...right/1068521/ Alternatively I've seen a few posts in the past saying they've had a decent price getting one from a dealer. Is there a particular number I need to call or do I just phone up any dealer and give them the parts number? Seems like my nearest is Lookers Volvo in Hillington if that helps. All new to me so apologies for the daft questions! Last edited by ld0595; Aug 3rd, 2023 at 21:32. |

Never done one on a 850 but generally speaking in my experience aftermarket panels tend not to fit as well as genuine with some needing more effort than others to get an acceptable fit.You could try phoning FRF in Swansea and if you quote code C3[I think?] you can possibly get a discount although whether shipping it out to you would then add to the cost I don't know.

Another vote for trying FRF Swansea, if you're going to try any dealer then they're the best one to try. Yes, C3 is the discount code. 01792 790066 or 784272

A good body man should be able to repair this with new metal for a reasonable price. Look at this. He may well be an "amateur". He lives in Glasgow.
