Thanks. Glad to have found this thread, I am trying to find a car to convert to lpg, currently interested in a 1983 245 and started wondering about emisssions on the mot. I'm currently in a non common rail diesel 760 so for mot I simply have it running on veg oil on the day. So I was wondering if you present your car for mot running on lpg then do they have to test it on that, bearing in mind an 83 240 might be starting to struggle through mot on emissions. Glad to hear they have to test it as presented!

The tester is sopposed to test the car on the fuel it is presented on. The LPG test is actualy less strict than teh petrol test!

Emissions on LPG should e lower than petrol provided the system is set correctly.

Is teh 245 carb or injection?

It's injection, being 1983 I think it should be one of the Bosch Jetronic types?
