Did anybody eliminated or manage to solve the famous clunk from P to R or D to R?

I have all my engine mounts new. new ping bolts (torqued to 50 nm (i have the xc90 ones)).

THE CLUNK STILL CONTINUES.....
Many Thanks

Check if the subframe bolts are torqued correctly.

A bloke on another board just looked it up on the torque table.

He reports 100Nm + 120º.

Could your issue be related to a vacum hose or air hose that reaches a level and leaks.
There is a slight movement of the engine on the pop sound, isn't one of the engine mounts air damped?

Could be just worn CV joints?

I am going to replace the wishbones and tie rods...I might also do the cv joins.....could that be the reason? And also why after warm everything e you stop you can feel the first gear engaging , there is no clunk just the motion.....

I guess the wheels of the car were steady?
The inner CV housing turns quite a bit when the gear is engaged so that would suggest a play in the CV joints.
