Manual start of the aux heater (V70, D5, 2003)
It is getting cold and I want to test the aux heater. This opens more than one question
In my V60 I can start the heater by just opening the door and turn the knob to manual start and push the button, easy. But I do not have that option in my 2003, D5, V70, is it possible at all? Or is it because I need that extra sw option? My heater system looks like this so it can definitely run without the engine running: 2nd question: I logged in with VIDA to test is, I can test each part/system, but what about a start button to have it run its own startup cycle. I can hear the water pump running as well as the fuel pump when pushing start on this. But do I really need to start each single step manually or is there an option to just press "start aux heater"? I know the steps are like turning on the combustion air and glow plug to heat up the chamber/air, wait a bit and then turn on the fuel pump, and when it is running then turn off the glow plug again. It is the CEM telling the CPM to start, so do I just push "CEM - Heater = On"? 3rd question: If we assume I can do a manual start, I know the temperature outside needs to be below 5 degree C and enough fuel in the gas tank. But can I from VIDA start it if the outside temperature is higher than 5 degree? |
