I seem to recall that BITD the Chief Freemason of Northamptonshire Police had a Royal as his official car.

I would have happlily paid double for a Royal in need of some work.

At £300 what stopped you whipping out your wallet on the spot?

You might find the fridge door is hidden behind the upholstery so it might still be a 5 seater.

You'll find the saloon a lot quieter and warmer inside in this weather as well, cools down quicker in summer too.
Its definitely a four seater model 👍🏻..

I wouldn't be too disheartened, the Royal was a limited run of special cars, a bit like when Rolls-Royce did the Phantom Celestial but obviously on a more affordable scale than several £million for the ultimate selling price (never disclosed, only hinted at during "Inside Rolly-Royce" C4 documentary) so while someone has just picked up a potential bargain, there's no reason you can't recreate your own version or more to the point, the version of your 940 that suits you best.
I'm doing the same with my Rover, the fact i started with the range topper in the first place was helpful but there are many alterations/improvements that i've made that set it apart from other versions of the same car - not that there are many left!

No reason you can't spruce your 940 up with various bits from the 960 range and add a few of your own custom bits too.
