Clogged PCV and vvt solenoid
Hi!
Have a clogged pcv(air blowing out of oil filler cap) At the same time vvt solenoid is making its trademark noise. Put a new one in and still the noise persists. Is the pcv causing oil starvation at the vvt valve? /Mike |

It's normally the VVT pulley/sprocket that makes the noise.
PCV doesn't normally cause this problem, but an oil & oil filter change can sometimes improve things, depending on how worn the VVT pulley/sprocket is ? |

I see..I was certain it was the solenoid.
Engine sounds sweet with disconnected though. Very strange. Will change the pcv first and then the sprocket. |

And it won't damage the engine if I drive it disconnected for a few days until the parts arrive?
