roadworthy check
No roadworthy as yet but feeling positive failed on relatively minor things, Siezed hand brake cable, cracked tail light lens which may be the hardest part to find as 2 types were used in 74, Cibie and hella and theyre not interchangeable despite looking identical.
I've repaired it for now with epoxy glue--thankfully the broken plastic was inside the light it looks fine for now but locating a good set of cibie lenses is now part of my to-do list. I'll also get to examine my suspension more closely as well the upper right rear facing wishbone bush was rejected, and the right hand drag link bush. I'm treating this apparent failure as a success as the testers were all full of admiration for the general rust free nature of the car and its general condition. Needed suspension parts have been found but they werent cheap 2 upper bushes cost only $100.00 less than i paid for the car----- I paid $450.00 for the car itself |

still learning about the strange ways of the 164
The siezed cable was the easiest fix, whoever previously adjusted the handbrake shoes had actually adjusted them the wrong way, He had backed off the adjuster fully.
and to my embarrasment I did exactly the same to the other side brake----- It would seem the adjusters work in the opposite direction on the other side of the car- something I won't forget in a hurry |

Funny video!
I don't think I'll be copying his damper settings or CD collection. John |

passed roadworthy
And not a moment too soon the 360 died today upper wishbone bushes were quite a challenge to fit to it, apart from that the old girl wasnt too bad to work on.
