A lot of people are asking about the economy of my Volvo. Normally, £90 for a full tank will return almost 1,000 miles when driven daily. However, if you go away for the weekend and spend more time on the motorway, the economy increases and as per the two new photographs I've added of the computer readings, the car will go up to 60.2 mpg and with a full tank of £90, this is around 1,280 miles between re-fills. Truly great performance and economy. Also, there are two people coming to view the car this weekend. If you have any other questions, please just ask. |

How the flip do you get that kind of economy? Do you drive down hill all the way with the wind behind you?
Looks like a great car btw.

Actually, I spent around 8 hours driving under 60mph from Glasgow to Southampton a few months ago. That's how I managed those figures - lots of careful motorway driving :-)

I get similar numbers from my V40 GDI if I set the cruise to 59 on the motorway. Think that the computer is a bit generous though, I think mine over reads by around 5mpg.
Nice S80 by the way, I would have bought had the timing been a bit better! |
