Default Heat Exchanger Transplant

I don't know if this has been asked before, but here goes.

Is it possible to fit a D5 Heat Exchanger (almost twice the volume as standard T5) to aformentioned T5 crankcase to assist in oil cooling.

2007 2.4L 260bhp T5.

Thanks in advance for any info

yes I have done this on my 2.3 T5, havent got round to doing it on 2.4 t5 yet.

fairly easy - drain the oil AND coolant first.

(you can pour the old coolant back in no problems)

Hello Matey. Thanks for getting back to me, In Vida It shows two identical seals for the 2.4 T5, but two different shape seals for the D5. One from the 2.4 T5 and another ovaloid one.

I'll get a D5 exchanger from the breakers and let you know what happens.

there are two different shaped cooler bases used depending on year ... also later coolers have a much more efficient core with fine plates as well as being thicker .

also you CAN remove the plastic jacket.

this is on the diesels I presume to keep heat in on startup but for cooling just remove it

The oil cooler from the ford focus rs MK2 is a direct replacement for your original oil cooler.

Direct from ford they're expensive but am sure they can be found cheaper elsewhere.

The following link is for an American tuner.
