  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

I have exactly the same noise when filler cap removed on 5cyl D3 but it’s an auto. As the noise disappears when the cap is on, not particularly bothered about it.

Me neither. My Dad's V70 and my S80 make the exact same popping sound when you remove the filler caps, but it doesn't affect driving and you can hardly hear it when the engine is running anyway. I figured just to live with it, as both cars run fine.

However, compared to older euro 3 models (ours are euro 4), I can't find any vacuum engine mounts. All seem to be solid with no lines going to them. Maybe vacuum mounts are model dependent.
