good news :-)
running with a blocked particle filter will mean you will need a new one if you neglect it .. If you neglect it further the engine will not be able to run ...
EGR is a different thing to Particle filter by the way .

ye thanks. no it doesnt seem to have a dpf , chassis number suggests euro 5 , but no menu for dpf, single throttle and no sensor next to the battery , had me baffled for ages as we found a dpf pressure sensor inside the car after we bought it. really need to get it up on ramps

It only happens after the engine is warmed up. And if you floor it with warm engine and the stumble around 2800rpm happens and you slowly lift your food of the accelerator it actually starts to accelerate a little bit better
Hello volvopilot!

I have the same engine and completely the same symptoms including the improved acceleration when the pedal is released. Have you figured it out?

you need to monitor fuel pressure when this is happening ... it should be always on one figure.
