If you press that button (you need to have the car at least woken up, give the start/stop a twist to the right without your foot on the brake) do you hear a clunk from the rear doors? If you do, you've got the power locks. If not, you'll got the traditional manual ones.

Page 255 in the MY2017 S90 manual (linked from https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...ls/s90/2016w46) talks about both types.
Nope I haven’t got them which isn’t a problem as I’m a single male with no kids. I just sometimes have children in my car as part of my work.

Made a right bloody mess too after only having it 3 days.

If you open the rear door and look on the inside just below the door latch there should be a small key hole and a padlock symbol on the door panel, you probably could get away with using a small flat blade screwdriver, if getting the auxiliary key out of the fob proves to be a pain.

Nope they hadn’t been manually engaged as I had to open the rear doors to get th4 children in.

So somehow I have been able to automatically lock them, but need the key to manually open them.

It’s either the window lock button or the lock button on the rear doors. I have yet to experiment. Least they now open, thank you.

Weird as i hadn’t engaged them anyway, b6 clicking the window icon it must have also engaged the child locks so I don’t see why if you automatically engage them you then have to manually disengage them. Thanks
Not sure how long you've had your SPA Volvo but I've had one for 4 years + and I'm still finding new things. (Of course, in my case I may have forgotten them

I know that feeling. I've had my V90 for 2 years now and usually whilst waiting for the good lady to do her thing. (aka known as shopping) I will have a prod and poke at the centre screen. Quite often I will come across a " I didn't know it did that" moment. Oh the joys of modern motoring..
