  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default handbrake/footbrake

can anyone comfirm that all mk1 xc90 handbrake cables are same length,just fitted 2 new rear ones and a new front one but for some reason i'm short by about an inch,confused lol

Is the central adjuster fully loosened/backed off?
Are the shoes fully backed off?
Do you have adjusters in the drums? - are they backed off?

yep everything is backed off fully,going to take one of the rear cables off tomorrow and check length i'm sure my driverside one was showing more inner cable at the equalizer before these new ones are equal

You think perhaps you have 2 of one side, instead of a pair, 1 left 1 right.

Where did you get them from, part numbers??

Edit - looks like they re both the same - Part number 30793828

there are 3 different cables

if it is a deisel they will be 2 of the above ...

I looked on Vida for my 2003 and the above mentioned cable 30793828 is for the right side, the left is part number is 30681684. These numbers are for a 5cylinder diesel.

well took front cable off as well as i orderd all 3 from seller months ago front one was slightly smaller than origenal put my old one on and after a squeeze got the 2 rear on,driverside i was on is fine spins nicely 4 clicks and it's locked,gotta check passenger side but weather is gonna be sh#t over next few days so put off,but i need a new/second hand origenal front cable as the adjuster section fell to bits last owner screwed that up,hopeing for the best but never buy first line cable's right pain

oh p.s both my rear cables were volvo prob origenal and part numbers were the same
