Default Sticky calipers- or not?

Having struggled for ages to move a sticky caliper piston using G clamps and old pads, I wondered if that was the whole story?

Turns out the flexi hose had collapsed internally and was acting as a one way valve (i.e. not releasing pressure).
This was confirmed when I took it off and tried to blow through it.
Blocked solid.
As I was taught all those years ago, Think Simple!

So, before spending a chunk of cash on Calipers, it might be worth checking the hoses first.

Hope this helps,
James.

I had both on mine - some stuck calipers and a damaged flexi. Mine wasn't letting fluid through so I had a massive imbalance across axle 1.

Me too, my front driver side caliper seized on and overheated, Pistons were free but when one was pushed in the other side came out, using a caliper tool piston retractor tool I couldn't get them both to retract at the same time, I had the brake hoses replaced and all works well now,

I can join in this one too, my car pulled quite badly to the left. Stripped and cleaned the calipers with no improvement. Discovered the OSF hoses had collapsed and since they were replaced everything is groovy
