Hey guys! I ordered my locking wheel nut from McGard today! Rang them up in Germany.. lovely accent on this piece.. anyway.. LOL 18 Euros for a replacement (about £12) and that included postage. So not bad afterall!

I just hope it fits! Volvo's wanted to weld nuts onto my locking nuts and remove them with a rachet!!!! I thought... ok... lets get outta here!

Yeah I guess that can be an issue. We have three Volvos on the drive and two additional sets of wheels & tyres in the garage, so I just swap them around

Default S60 wheel nuts

I too bought an s60 and later found out there were no locking nuts, MCgard were very helpful and for about £20, got 2 posted to me within a couple of days.
try [info@mcgard.de]

Regarding overtightening wheel nuts, recently got tyres changed, the tyre centre said the table they use for torque settings shows a very high setting (140kn i think), whereas the usual is 120 ish, thats the gist of the conversation anyway.

By the way, I bought Falken 452 tyres, they seem good but noticed a 10% economy drop from standart p6000's.

Broke my key trying to undo the overtightened nut. It slipped off and got chewed up. I don't have any code for the key. Can't Volvo find out what it is from the VIN?

My brake pads desparately need changing and I am up s*** creek.

try taking a good close up pic of the locker and emailing it to mcgaurd they send you a replacement for a slice of your income

Yep the front ones were impossible to get off on mine
tried reverse socket just nackered the locker and pulled the front off it,the drilled it out next one wouldnt budge either spent 3 days chiseling and heating with oxy/acc bottles wouldnt budge.

needed to cut them off with oxy/acc so now im nursing a full set of knackered 17"thors (except the rear 2 that i managed to get off by luck with the reverse socket and a sledgehammer))

Just spent the last three weeks with the same issue, on the first visit some 4 year old with a mattel "my first air gun kit" at the tyre place tightened up the wheel nuts to the point where they were virtually welded, then proceeded to wreck my key while trying to get them undone again and then practically washed their hands of the problem and didn't care, lots of swearing and reverse sockets later I managed to get three of them off, but then had the bite the bullet on the last one as the head sheared and so had to pay a cylinder head company to drill it out at a cost of £141.

Well ... everybody told me to take the locking nuts off before I went to the tyre place, I guess now I have had to pay for my laziness I wont do it again!
