Default 740 SE 2L Estate Clutch HELP!!!!!

I need help here!!
I get a slight squeal on take up in first gear (I suspect clutch release bearing) but drive seem unaffected. However I am getting distinct judder and I think slipping clutch when reversing uphill
Is my clutch on the way out ? or has anybody got any other thoughts or checks I should make?

Regards

I would take a look at the gearbox mounting, centre propshaft bearing and the bushes in the rear suspension before condemning the clutch. Your clutch release bearing has gone "dry". Check the amount of wear left on the centre plate and if car is high mileage you may well find that the clutch plate has worn quite a lot. The other cause of judder is the flywheel where the clutch plate sits. The face can become cracked and scored over a long time period, rendering smooth clutch action impossible.

All the best, Peter

If your clutch slips in reverse,I would think that it would be slipping every time you put your foot down in top gear.
