Hi all,

It's a sad day - time to part with my 2004 V40 1.9d. Since moving, I haven't used the car enough to warrant keeping it, as we have two cars and I get the train to work. I had planned on selling it once it passed the nct (Ireland) but failed on corroded front brake pipes. I've replaced the pipes and bleed the braking system but it's now failing to maintain full braking pressure.

It's been a great car having never let me down and been extremely economical along with practical. I've maintained it methodically, it doesn't burn any oil (been using shell helix ultra by recommendation from here) and starts first turn of the key always.

If I was keeping it, I'd certainly look to repair it as it's been such a good car but it doesn't make sense to nct and tax it when I don't have a use for it.

If anybody is interested in it whole let me know, otherwise I'll scrap it this week.
