Hello Gray3,
I had a very similar issue on my V70 with water dampening the carpet edge around the tailgate switch. It was eventually traced to a leaking valve in the water feed to the rear washer jet which was running down the right hand side of the tailgate interior and soaking into the carpet edge between the right hand edge of the tailgate and the switch. It might be worth removing the top plastic trim of the inside of the tailgate and checking for any water/dampness when the rear washer is used? Good luck...

Water in tailgate
Hi all
A bit faster this time in replying. Refitted rear lights with new gaskets all okay. Sprayed more water around rear window, and that’s where the water is coming in. Now when I brought the car 7 years ago the rear heating element wasn’t working properly on all elements so the dealer fitted a new rear window. Now, trying to work out the best way to sort it. Thanks gray 3 |
