Default removing seat covers

Hi all,

Would anyone if it's possbile to remove the car seat covers on a 96 960 estate?
Ideally I want to remove and give a really good clean. I have seen some zips on the rears but they are stuck and really don't look to be something that just allows the covers to be removed.

Cheers

Martin

I’ve never tried removing the rear seat covers which have zips.

On the 940 the front seat covers are attached with metal strips and hog rings which can be quite difficult to open.

If the seats are leather it should be possible to give them a fairly thorough clean in situ.

There's a trick to that - the trick is you don't open them! Turn the seat over so the cushions top side is resting on a table or similar and push down on the framework to relieve the tension on the leather then simply remove the hog rings. Worked for me and saves having to do them back up again which is even harder than opening them!

I've done that too.

Removing the covers is a bit fiddly but not too bad

Mine don't have zips though, so your seats may differ.

I've a spare set of black cloth covers probably going to the tip this weekend if you want some to practice with!
