Help needed! I’m at a loose end
Hi, I’m new to the forum as of today so I do apologise in advance if I’m doing it wrong!
So I bought a second hand v50 2.0l diesel turbo 2007 and the CEM has had water damage! I’ve read a lot on these forums and other places that you can’t just plug and play with a new one etc etc! My problem is that the car doesn’t start and if it does it cuts off by itself, when I turn the key to position 2 on the ignition the lights come up and go straight off and the clocks don’t seem to read anything not even the fuel gauge, when I do manage to get it started there is no response from the throttle and the engine just cuts off, I have plugged a snap on computer in to it and all the codes lead to the CEM (under the glove box) I have checked all the fuses (all good) and taken apart the CEM and given it a clean and gotten rid of all the corrosion! I did notice however that the green CEM board looked like it had burnt out (brown areas on the board itself) I have managed to get another CEM/ECU/clock cluster/ignition barrel/steering wheel/ along with the steering lock but when plugged in it comes up with immobiliser fault see manual, is there anything else I’m missing in order to make swapping these parts work or any other way of getting the old CEM unit to work without spending a months wage on it to be reprogrammed into a new CEM unit (Think that’s all of it, feel free to ask about anything I’ve missed as want this car to be working!) Many thanks in advance |
