Hi all,

Thanks for your responses. Some updates below:

- Brakes were the 302mm so I sent back the incorrect 280mm. Bedding in nicely all round. All brake flexis get changed tomorrow with another fluid change.

- I've purchased all the parts I need for the cambelt change as follows; Continental timing belt kit, QH aux belt. I would like to change the water pump just because of the mileage, but don't want to fit an after market one (genuine Volvo is £80 from Caffyns on eBay).

- My total suspension rebuild kit is here and comprises of; TRW gas front dampers, KYB front top mounts and bump stop kits, Febi front spring upper rubber perches, Febi PRO kit front inner tie rods/outer track rods/steering boots, Febi PRO kit front wishbones (2 bolt), Febi rear upper shock mounts, Sachs gas rear dampers, Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs.

I think it would be prudent to have the timing belt changed before the suspension; I'll call my friend tomorrow.

Howdy Ray

Yes you are not the first to be caught out by the 280/ 302 saga on a T5. I need new front discs on saffy so playing safe and taking them off and getting a tape out before ordering

Defo new roller tensioner and with that mileage Aisin / genuine water pump

Bet a tenner your coolant is well overdue for a change. Do flush and replacement when do pump

Forgot to leave my number last time - 07711 669 355

Cheers all

I bought a genuine water pump from Volvo, and then decided to add a genuine thermostat and seal to. I'm now thinking with 263K that I should change the top hose for a Gates one aswell!

P.s - Bigfella, are you based in Stratford? There happens to be an 850 T5R in green on my parents road, I started chatting to the guy last summer....

No Ray
Forest Gate, just off the Flats
Never seen an 850 or 70 R in the 23 years I have lived here save a red 850 with pale trim which disappeared years ago
If the guy you mention is an enthusiast would be very interested in touching base
Which street is he in ?
