Default Volvo 850 automatic climate control unit

Need a new automatic climate control unit for my 850. The part that sits in the dash with the ventilation controls and temperature selectors.

Found one from a 2.5 diesel car.

Will it work on a 2.3T petrol car?

As a simple answer, yes it will.

Why should it not? Has nothing to do with the engine!

Great, thanks. Just making sure, you never know

I see a lot of different part numbers for those controllers. Obviously there's a difference between manual and automatic climate control. Are there other differences between model years or are they all interchangeable? Look identical from the outside?
