Default Gul 855 For sale

This T5-R is up for sale again at £10995.
Just a word of warning, I purchased/paid for this car through paypal back in April for a lot less than it is advertised for now. After emailing the seller 63 times to arrange paperwork, delivery etc a date was set for the delivery of the car.
That date never arrived. Fortunately, buying a vehicle through paypay the money was returned to me within five days.
This car has been on and off car selling sites at least four times since before Christmas. I actually don't think it exists.
Before I paid up front I did an HPI check that looked all ok.
A complete time waster, I really don't know what he is up to.

Never enquired about that particular one but have seen it advertised on and off for a while.

Have been a few yellow T-5R like that, they come and go in ads but don't seem to actually exist on enquiry. Or the seller goes quiet on asking for details. Some decidedly dodgy dealers around too. It's a very strange market right now...

I don't know if it's people testing the market (definitely trying to push up prices for these...), or dodgy dealers using them as fly paper, etc.

As far as I can tell the only one that actually sold was the one from Chaplins.

Its especially very disappointing when you have paid for it and excited about the fact you are getting a new toy. It puts a very bitter taste in your mouth.

Very lucky to have received your money back as cars aren't covered under PayPal protection.

Really?

I never knew - not that'd I'd trust the system to pay all of a car's price anyhow.

How come? I guess they've been bitten too many times so they now refuse to cover cars?

I think because the car was going to be delivered to my door that's the difference.
The payment is set up by the seller to p.p.... P.p then notify me to pay the full asking price. The payment is then frozen in the p.p account.
The car is then delivered to me, I then let p.p know that the vehicle is ok and want to proceed.
Once that happens p.p release the funds to the seller. If however, I find fault with the car or its not as described I can then return the car and funds are withheld.
If the car doesn't reach me within five working days, p.p automatically refund me..

I thinks it's because transfer of ownership of a car involves 'legal' type documentation which can open itself up to fraud. So someone could end up buying a car they have no right to, for example the car still has outstanding HPI or the seller doesn't actually own it. They don't cover deposits on cars either, unless you can prove that someone else used your account to make the payment.
