Rear brake noise
When I brake hard(ish) so that the rear brakes come on I have a faint thud, thud, thud sound and a bit of vibration.
My mechanic says the brakes disks are in ok condition. Any idea what it could be? I was thinking a warped disk but if it was something obvious my mechanic would have spotted it. Thanks.

A warped disc would[I think] need a dial gauge[ or some kind of home made device to do the same job] to find it,it wouldn't be immediately obvious to the naked eye.

Thanks, have just had my handbrake shoes changed as they had delaminated, so I know it's not that. Am thinking it's a warped disk.

I had a similar regular thud..thud...thud under hard braking and it turned out to be the calipers binding - over a three month period ended up replacing rear NS and front OS calipers and all has been well since
