Default Servicing Deal

Hi everyone. Collecting my first Volvo next week - V90 D4 R-Design. I got a good deal on a 4 year lease but disappointed to be told today the £399 for 3 years servicing deal isn’t available on leased cars, despite being told differently previously. Is the dealer trying it on? Could I ask around at other dealers to see if they will do the deal? Or should I not worry too much and just pay the servicing when it needs doing? Alternatively I think they will offer me servicing included at an extra monthly cost. Not sure what’s best to do. Thanks for the advice.

According to the information on Volvo’s website there is nothing within the T&Cs that says leased cars are excluded from the £399 for 3 years or £599 for 5 years service offer. Attached are couple of screenshots from Volvo’s website relevant to the service offer. According to the attached T&Cs screenshot, the offer is not just applicable to XC60s but also applicable to V90s.

It’s correct - leasing considered business not retail.

Depending on the miles you do, stretch out each service by a week or so so that you are not due one just before you return the car

The service deal is definitely not available on PCH deals - I have a 24 month deal currently, and my Dealer suggested having the first service done around 3 weeks after it is due, then the second service which is more expensive won’t be due before the car is handed back.

I did have the service deal on my previous 2 XC60’s, which were not on PCH deals and were great value.

This depends on the mileage you do. My previous lease car tried to charge me for not servicing on time (on mileage) but I told them it's so hard to get service dates

And I'm shocked that the servicing deal doesn't apply to PCH. My previous lease car (Mitsubhishi) allow us to sign up for such deal on lease car....

That’s a bit crap on Volvo’s behalf, unless of course the deal is actually a loss leader to incentivise private sales?

As long as its a personal lease I wouldn’t have seen what the issue is.

We have a leased Range Rover and their service deal was available to all, 4 years was £550 I think as our car needs an annual service, its cheaper for the 24 month interval cars. Anyone can buy it.

Yes, the T&Cs of servicing offer says ‘retail offer only’ but can’t one have personal PCH contract rather than a business PCH contract in which case personal PCH is considered as ‘retail’ I believe.

I would try emailing to Volvo UK at custcare@volvocars.com.

I've managed to get them to talk to the dealer at extending the 2 years selekt service package (2 yrs for £199) after the dealer refused to sell it to me.

Worth a try.

I was offered it on a business leasing deal. Could either pay it in one go or add it to the monthly lease amount.

Not normally available with PCH personal contract hire but is with PCP personal contract purchase.
