Nice to have got the timing of this years trip spot on. Arrive back in the UK on 1st July.
Should all have been settled one way or the other by next year. I have just looked at diesel prices in France and they seem to have shot up by about 15% from last year with supermarkets charging €1.44 per litre compared with €1.24 last year. Exchange rate is about the same and this years price is almost the same as in the UK.

If you don’t speed you won’t get a fine. Can never understand why people get annoyed with the enforcement of speed limits, it’s probably to easiest law to avoid breaking.

I don't think that's the way the thread started It was more a heads up for people venturing to France this year.
Around the Le-Mans weekends it's been known for Years (I'm talking as far back as 1989 here) that the French Police tend to target Brits heading to Le-Mans quite heavily whilst Jean & Pierre merrily drive their knackered Renaults without the bother. I remember one year (1992 maybe) the Police set up a checkpoint just outside -Beaumont to check all the Brits had the pre-requisite items for driving on the French roads & running a mini-bus back to the town to enable those stopped to get the money from the back to pay the on-the-spot fines.
