Lock down date

On the 8th May I ordered a XC60 inscription in denim blue , my estimated delivery date is 7th of July, when would the last date that changes to the order be made? Or has my lock down date passed? Many thanks.

Eight weeks seems very quick.

Was that date on the order form, or did the dealer give you that from the Volvo system?

Based on other members experience, mine included, the waiting time from order to delivery is between 12 to 16 weeks.

This may not be helpful as mine is an S90. I ordered it in back in Jan, I was quoted 8 weeks too. Some dealers are able to kind of pre book their manufacturing slot or something, apparently. In the end, I got the car in less than 10 weeks. Not too bad considering it came all the way from China and generally the waiting time for S90 was much longer than that.

What they can do is look for a slot they have (or can get access to) for the same model. The dealers will pre-order so many cars with a general specification then if they get an order they simply tweak before the lock down date.

I ordered my V90 in late Feb for an end of march delivery (Was late but that was a shipping issue)
My change was just colour. Not sure what else they can change before lockdown

I ordered mine in March’18 and the estimated delivery date on mine is 15/06/18 with the lockdown date being 8th May. The delivery date on yours with the order being placed on 8th May seems to be too quick unless the dealer had altered an existing order from their pool to match to your spec in which case that is possible. If my dates are anything to go by then I am guessing the lockdown date on yours might have passed but ask your dealer and they should be able to tell you accurate information.

I ordered early May and was given a delivery date in early Sept and a lock in date of 11th July.

The op's timing sounds very quick unless he is maybe taking over a slot from someone who ordered the same spec but dropped out.

31/03/18 Ordered in branch
09/04/18 Order confirmation comes through after I chase it (says order placed 09/04/18 so someone clearly forgot to press "Enter" or something). Order has 30/06/18 as delivery date, but dealer says 20/07/18 is the date on their system.
09/05/18 Chase for an update, 20/07/18 remains as delivery date with a production date of 06/07/18
19/05/18 Enquire about making changes to spec, dealer confirms lock-in date is 13/06/18 (i changed colour of vehicle, nothing else).

So my timeline looks pretty well established, and makes it 15 weeks 6 days from order to receipt.

I'd take 8 weeks and run to the bank with it!

Hi, the date I was given was from the factory info, as you say the dealership may have had pre- booked slots. The R design would have been October delivery!
