Default Cold Starting

I noticed since the temp has dropped to the -degC for the first time this year my engine still starts first turn but sounds like its idling a little slower (only very noticible) for about half a second then picks up to normal (it could be a miss for a couple of revolutions)?
Im being very picky but wasnt sure if this is just a glow plug problem or its just a little lazy for a second. If its a glow plug thing how often should they be changed any recommendations genuine / bosch etc? nothing in the book really.
Old indirect injection engines this used to be a common change not sure about the D5?
