Default C30 2.0 petrol struggling to start

As title says. An intermittent issue since I brought the car a few months ago, wherein when I turn the key to start the car it struggles asif it wont start for 10 or so seconds then springs into life. Turning the car imediately back off and on can result in the same thing happening but usually once its initially started it will start the second time fine.

Typically the car starts better than anything else i've driven, right on the key turn

Ive had cars where the batteries are low not start, however this is different. The starter motor isnt struggling to spin up at all, electrically everything is fine, battery voltage is fine, the lights dont dim as I start. The engine is just struggling to get going just very distinctive noise of it very nearly turning over but not quite. This isnt every time and I cannot notice a pattern to it. Just today it happened after doing a long motorway drive. But sometimes it has done it after short 5 minute drives. It just seems completely random.

VIDA doesnt show anything when the engine is running but I cannot replicate the issue to catch it as it happens. I am just worried as I know this isnt a simple battery issue. What should I check for here guys? Would appreciate any responses.

Dont want to get stuck or worse having a broken car!

you should check fuel pressure whilst the problem is there...

C30 1.8 petrol owner for 10 years and mine always fires up first turn of the key, even after sitting for a month without being started.

Hi

Just trying to clarify

That sounds a bit contradictory?
Or do you mean "firing" instead of "turning over"?
