240 2.3 under bonnet question
On our 2.3 240, there's a vertical pipe connected via an elbow to the bottom of the air intake system. I'm not sure what to do with it!

Aye that's the cold air inlet there should be a length of ducting near the exhaust for the hot air intake to help with cold starts.

Thank you, both.
The tube quite clearly feeds into the air inlet, but the route looks too convoluted to be the main feed. Also, we had no problems with cold starts last winter.

It is the main air feed pipe.
I would not expect and problems starting in winter provided you have a good battery |
