Coolant Change
hello all
there's really two options where i live to purchase anti freeze/coolant. i'm not doing it till next week so no rush. (my car is a 2002 - V40 - 1.9 td) europarts or halfords so what do you think? their recommendations are on the links below: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Vo...2a73b44&000397 or http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_255224 or are both rubbish! cheers.........john |

Halford one can't be to bad as it's product review says that 100% of customers who bought it would recommend it.
Thinks i'd pick that one providing it's the correct spec for you car. |

Volvo recommend their own Ethylene Glycol. Read somewhere that alternatives can give problems. Do a search of these forums and google ethylene glycol alternatives for Volvo. Quite a few complaints of certain aftermarket coolants not being up to scratch. Stick with the genuine recommended gear if you can.

IT never needs changing again once you have flushed out the system ... unlike the other stuff around .

I am pretty certain I paid about £14 or £15 directly from my local Volvo dealer. I would definitely recommend this stuff and don't always assume that the online price is the best.

Me too - Can't find the receipt but I'm sure it worked out at no more than about £3 or £4 a litre from the local dealer.
