seat leather

My 740 turbo has light brown leather seats and the passenger one is starting to tear. Does anyone know if Volvo sells the leather covers or if I have to refurbish all the seats (not an option, too expensive!)
If they sell it does anyone know the price?
By the way, my AC compressor has stoped working, and the Volvo replacement cost a bundle (near €1.500 here in Portugal) does anyone know of any alternatives. I'm going to send it to a AC specialist(?) to try and fix it but still don´t know if it's possible.

My old boss had a 760 GLE with the velour trim. He had the seats recovered in leather by his local volvo dealer - so yes they do supply them. I would expect that this costs a bundle however.

Have you not considered sourcing a good second-hand seat?

With regards to the AC compressor, I haven't a clue.

Second hand parts are the answer here, both for the seat and the compressor. Find a good Volvo scrapper, I know of several here on the continent but none in Portugal.

I´ve already considered going to the scrapper, but here in Portugal they aren´t as specialized as in the UK. I know this because I read the "Practical Classics" magazine and am aware of the degree of tlc you devote to your cars, real aficionados you guys are!
Besides most scrappers here are real charlatans with no reasonable prices as I´ve already discovered trying to source parts for my classic Ford Taunus 17M P5. Thanks to JP and George for the tips anyway.

Well, if you could get the leather off the seat, you could always take it to a leather repair type shop and they could fix it for you.
